Pension Wise — free impartial guidance for the over 50s

Pension Wise is a government backed service from MoneyHelper. It offers free, impartial guidance to anyone age 50 and above.
An appointment takes around 60 minutes; during which one of their pension specialists will explain the options available to you. They’ll also explain how each option is taxed and provide information about how to look out for scams. This will help you make an informed decision about taking money from your Personal Account (and any other pension savings you may have).

You can have an appointment if:
- You’re aged 50 or over; and
- You’ve a UK-based defined contribution pension pot (such as your DC Section Personal Account).
It doesn’t matter how small your pension pot is.
If you meet the criteria above, and you’re considering transferring your Personal Account out of the Scheme, the DC Section Administrator must make sure you’ve spoken to Pension Wise before any payment is made.
