Updating your Expression of Wish
09 January 2025
As a member of the Prudential Staff Pension Scheme, when you die there may be some benefits payable to your Dependants. It’s up to the Trustee of the Scheme to decide who receives any cash lump sum death benefits, but your wishes will normally be followed.
An Expression of Wish is a declaration by you, informing the Trustee who you would like to receive the benefits that may be payable if you die.
It's really important that you complete an Expression of Wish. Without it, the Trustee will not know who should receive the benefits and may not be able to pay any at all. An Expression of Wish can also help to minimise any disputes by family members or other interested parties over the allocation of your pension assets.
It’s also important to update your Expression of Wish should your personal circumstances change, for example a change of marital status or having/adopting children.
How to make or update an Expression of Wish
The easiest way to complete or update an Expression of Wish is via your Personal Account at MyPru.
Otherwise, you can download and print the form on the Expression of Wish page.
