Member Nominated Trustee Directors

In March, the Trustee of the Prudential Staff Pension Scheme sought nominations to fill a Member Nominated TrusteeDirector (MNTD) vacancy. The vacancy was due to arise as Deborah Webb was nearing the end of her four year term as an MNTD.

The Trustee received three nominations for the role from Deborah Webb, who was eligible to stand for re-election, Clare Moffat and Michael Thomas.

Election results

Just over 4,000 active Scheme members were asked to vote for their preferred candidate, using a ‘single transferable vote’ electoral system. To ensure accuracy and independence, the election was run by Electoral Reform Services, an external election services provider.

Voting closed at 12 noon on Wednesday 2 April 2014.  Electoral Reform Services advised that 453 votes had been received and that Deborah Webb had been elected to serve a further four year term as an MNTD. Deborah was pleased with the outcome of the election and made the following statement:

“I have enjoyed my time acting as a Member Nominated Trustee Director and I was keen to reapply for the role at the end of my first term. I am looking forward to the opportunity to serve another term as a Trustee Director and would like to thank the members that voted for me. There are many exciting developments happening in the world of pensions and I look forward to the challenges that we will face over the next four years that I can represent you on.”
